Popped and poured. This has a pretty nose of sweet strawberries, lifted by a bit of v.a. In the mouth, acidity is prominent to start, along with some slightly drying tannins. But there's a nice core of fruit underneath that emerges the more air it gets. This is medium bodied with some toasty oak notes, but still approachable if you like acidity and grip. I think it will integrate and improve and I'll let our remaining bottles sleep 5+ years.

Overall nice and surprisingly open for business. Very earthy profile with black fruits in the background. Smooth texture. Medium finish but a bit low on complexity. There was a slight burnt oaky note that I didn't care about, but my wife enjoyed the slight bitterness. More like a decent village wine and certainly at less than $30 priced like one, so the value was OK, but no excitement for me here. On night 2 I liked it less as the palate was a bit disjointed.

This was quite earthy, soil dominated, with good acidity tart red berries. Best with food, and pretty nice.
