Wow. I found this white rioja for $5.99. I had it chilled and found it to be light and somewhat crisp with a subtle citrus-y (grapefruit) aftertaste. The dominant feature is a pleasing fruity, tartness. I can't even understand why anyone would drink inexpensive domestic Chardonnays at 2-3 times the price when this is available. I paired it with mushrooms, cream cheese, and green olives and it was a good match. I can certainly imagine this wine being amiable enough to pair with delicate seafood. Something I like about Spanish wine is a tendency to complement food, rather than compete with it. That said, for those that enjoy fruity whites as a light apertif, this wine is very appropriate, smooth and pert.

Pretty, floral nose. Dry & crisp, nice structure. A good bargain.
