A handful of Italians, no Tuscany/Piedmont Allowed (Columbus, OH): Subtle nose shows some melon and peachy notes. Aggressive tannins. Exotic and expressive, though some might find the wine overly coarse and drying. Not as exotic as the Gravner wines, with a less refined and more masculine style; still, the best of the Damijan wines I've had..

Italy is more than Tuscany and Piemonte, capiche? (Casa mia, Columbus Ohio): Slighty pink copper colour - very pretty and crystalline. Resin and sherry on the nose and some clove-y spice. Very light resin on the tip of the palate, but very clean and slightly sweet. Bitter caramel in the balance. Very well-defined. Nice and light finish good grip, jasmine. Minerality develops over time, bordering on more saline. All the elements arrayed nicely and quite good.

Very distinct copper color, with dark caramel, mineral, and flower aromas; a very bold and hearty white, but without the melon flavors I associate with chardonnay or viognier. Maybe a bit of a novelty, but with more experience, I think I could really come to appreciate this wine.

Beautiful pink-tinted color. Lots of character on the nose, with a definite oxidized note but caramel, white flowers, and a stony minerallity. A lengthy palate with a firm, but certainly inoffensive, tannic grip but the fruit seems somewhat flat. While merely a shadow of his mentor Gravner's wines fun in its own right and a solid value; still, more interesting than enjoyable.
