HDH auction at Spiaggia; 6/20/2019-6/22/2019 (Chicago, IL): A distinct rustic earthiness on the nose here. The palate has a distinct leafiness; this is a little thin on the palate, and then this finishes with some astringent bitter oak. Never been a fan of the producer; this is pretty much in line with my expectations.

(Bichot Albert Mazis-Chambertin) (Mazis-bas) Medium, medium-plus colour. Big, open aromas edged with toast - initially needs more focus. More tannin, but not astringent and some dark barrel flavours that dovetail to fresh, dark fruit. I think that this is also not showits best, but there is a real underlying sense that this is a very serious wine.
