  I am calling this lightly corked. I wanted to do a note on it anyway because the wine is nice despite the cork taint. Plenty of acidity, clear fruit, nice structure. Still have another bottle. Will try soon.

  Relatively young, considering this is Rioja, the Beronia at its ninth year is still youthful with plenty of hefty black berry and cherry fruit and underlying notes of tobacco and leather. Rich, beautifully concentrated and well poised. Charming.

  changed my rating from a 86 to an 88 after a couple of days of air time. initially good balance but seemed heavy handed on the oak. a few days later the woodiness was gone.
