100% cab. 14.1%abv. I let it breathe a few hours before enjoying. Enjoyed over 2 days but best on day 1. A surprisingly thin wine given the reviews I saw. Some good fruit but was expecting more concentration.

PnP started this wine out with some astringent characteristics that masked the core fruit at first. However, it didn't take but 30 minutes or so in a decanter before it really started to leap forward with some beautiful dark red and black fruit flavors. Dark black cherry, black currant, black raspberry, black mulch, fresh soil, and some gravely, wet earth. Gritty tannins that never fully resolved throughout 2+ hours of consumption. A notable grip and frame, especially for a 2007; the core fruit had decent concentration and depth mid-palate.
This was served side-by-side with a 2014 Greer Cabernet Sauvignon. They were clearly different wines in many aspects, especially when it came to classiness and finesse (which the Greer definitely had more of over the Larkmead). However, the Greer was a bit of a softer wine than the Larkmead. The Larkmead's power and concentration were worthy of recognition, though over time it became a bit disjointed and cedar-heavy, masking the fruit that was showing so well in the beginning.
93+ points (pushing 94+), with still some upside in a year or so. For those holding bottles, you could drink this now with a short decant (though I wouldn't give it all that much air over multiple hours), or hold with confidence for another year or so. After that, it's a bit of a crapshoot as to whether or not the fruit will start to fade or become somewhat discombobulated over time. For my preference, I'd drink now, as I appreciate the power it was displaying currently.

close to its peak. Cherry to the rim Wonderfull black fruit up front to smooth mouthfeel and a long finish. Drink over the next 4 to 5 years.
