Opened for two hours, decanted for two more. I've been sitting on this one bottle for many years, and was thrilled to finally open it, as it met all expectations. Beautifully mature, lots going on: the first half sip seemed almost salty and mineral-driven, then the complex fruit flavors moved in, and from there every sip was a delight. Paired with grilled Prime NY strip steak. Looking forward to trying my 2009s! Someday...

Nose: medium + intense, very clear and ripe notes present. Dark cherries, red plums, vanilla, nougat, herbal notes, white pepper, cedar, tobacco, some earth and leather can be detected. This is absolutely complex with enormous depth and freshness. New flavours emerge with every inhale.
Palate: medium alcohol, high acidity, ripe tannins with medium intensity, offering so much in the mouth and enveloped by a velvety texture. All very well integrated and feminine. In the mouth, the wine seems younger and fresher than in the nose - absolutely top class with a nice long finish. Percarlo always has something to offer in terms of flavour profile and can differentiate itself from other Sangiovese.

Friday evening at Bishan. Tasted blind. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Appearance is clear, deep intensity, garnet colour. Legs. Nose medium+ intensity, with aromas of soy, earth, black cherries, leather. Developed. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol (14%), structured high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of meat, leather, black cherries, dark red cherries, dark oak spice, integrated toast oak, Tuscan earth. Very long finish. Very good quality. I was guessing modern styled Brunello ~2004. Drinking very well, probably at peak now.

Consistently good, with the added benefit of the oak having been even further integrated in the three years since last tasting. The fruit is still nicely vibrant, but this is giving me lots of signals that it should be consumed sooner vs later. Nonetheless, these are always such a treat as there's the added benefit of all of the positive, beautiful thoughts of Bettina and Luca and their organic farm. recommended

Fresh, slightly tart cherry and quite lively, with a long precise finish. This demands food, and provides clear balance and cut. Almost architectural.
