Book Release Wine Dinner-“The New French Wine” (The Morris, San Francisco): Medium yellow. Herbal nose with some volatile acidity. Full but not heavy. Terrific feel and length. Surprisingly fresh. Rich, round, lots of soil, lower acidity. Impressive for its power and longevity, but in the end, a bit dull as it left me craving more acidity.

Persistent. The flavor really drives itself through the mouth and body. Happy, elegant and extremely powerful
It is still utterly lively, fruit-driven and powerful, almost like it has an electrical current running through. The texture is full and creamy, with an underlying, all-pervasive acidity. While drinking, it shape-shifts from being long and linear to being round, opulent and cheerful.
Iconic.
Around 16ºC in a Burgundy glass.

Richter Pre-Gaming Night (w/ some new world icons): Very beautiful and complex on the palate with elegance and cut. Quite particular style, but not I like that much. If you like the style, you would score it higher. At least this bottle was not premoxed like other white Chaves I had.
TN: Nose a bit meh. On the palate more beautiful, floral aromas, quince, smoke, minerality. Lots of cut and freshness for the grape. Fine and airy, not at all too dense or especially oily like Marsannes can be. Quite good.
Decanting: No extensive decanting needed.

Prelude to the annual Magnum Rarities Tasting in Zurich. A deeply mineral and cool aroma profile. Fruit of red apple with citric freshness. A plethora of fresh herbs. Opens up dramatically adding glass lemon grass and estragon, quince and bee wax after 2-3h. The palate with a tight texture and plenty of cream initially masking and then balancing the abundant, crisp acidity.

Rich, golden color, slightly cloudy.
Honey, caramel, apricot, smoke, nuts. Slightly oxidized.

Not oxidative, but still a bit muted in the nose, dense in the palate. This was a bit "meh"
