  Surprisingly young appearance, very little brick along the rim. Forward nose of red berries, strawberries and a good mineral note; The palate showed a little more age with mostly strawberry and leather; good acidity underpinning the fruit and still some ripe tannins. Good balance overall. Falls off on the mid palate just a little, but the finish is decent. I did not expect this to show as well as it did. Drank along with 1986 Gruaud Larose and this was different, clearly New World, but almost as enjoyable. Matched perfectly with steak tartar.
