Classic Diamond Creek. Elegant layers of blackberry, plum, leather and a touch of oak. Very bordeauxlike as expected. Full bodied, long lingering finish. Popped and poured the first glass by mistake but this is at a point where it is awfully good right out of the bottle. Deep indigo color, long lingering legs. This improved some with air but not hugely so. Yes it will last another ten years if you prefer a classic, aged Bordeaux profile but this is in a really good place now. A great accompaniment to a beef tenderloin dinner following a day at the PGA tournament final round.

Beautiful wine. Started with double decant and initially the nose had a funky note to it. First taste was nice but wine needs lots of air to open. After intense swirling, you could see the blossoming of the wine. Each sip brought new notes and of the six tasting the wine, no one wanted the glass to be empty. Still able to lay down but at the same time, not sure what that accomplishes.

Was a little disappointed that this wine was served a bit warm at Silverfox. I'm a bit biased for DCGM so 91 pts is fair. This wine is still fairly young and should be stored at proper temperatures and decanted prior to enjoyment.

2009 California Barrel Tasting (Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Washington DC): This is the most Burgundian of the DC's with soft tannins and is already well integrated. It had wonderful intense after taste.
