Big and complex nose of leather, tobacco, blackberry, plum and cassis. Like smelling a cigar room full of leather. Plenty of fruit left on the palate but nearly all the tannins have resolved leaving the wine with little structure. Still very enjoyable and paired perfectly with my ribeye, although it's evident this is on the decline.

The inky, opaque core of almost black but with a sheen that draws in the eye. A mere millimeter thick rim of purple plum and all making for a beautiful wine. As soon as the cork was pulled the area filled with notes of cassis and plum; a most fragrant wine. Cedar, saddle leather, and vanilla all knit the palate in a silky mouthfeel. Fully integrated tannins bound with deft acidity produce a perfectly balanced. It out classed the Ch. Montelena from the same vintage. Both were excellent, but the Cade was unanimously preferred. A shadow of sediment along the side from which the wine was poured and circumnavigating the shoulder. Decanted. 15.2% alc. With grilled (beef) ribeyes from the Meating Place. 10.28.23. Highly Recommended.

These two wines were a boxed pair, one screwtop, one corked. the six of us were not able to detect any taste difference between the two. Dark, rich napa cab..nothing special but good

Vibrant, darkfruit flavors with smooth tannins. Might have 2-3 more years. Or more?

Decanted an hour before dinner. Very big, concentrated. Dark fruit aromas and flavors. Still somewhat tannic. Should last at least 2-3 more years.
