It starts out as about the meatiest wine I've ever had, loaded with umami. With air raspberry cherry fruit and leather come out and add complexity. Solid and pleasant and the age has definitely brought something to the table.

The bull label. This wine has finally come out of its shell. A bit closed but inviting nose. In mouth old wine intensity, licorice and garrigue, lots of quality. Very pleasurable and worth the wait.

Forgotten bottle in the cellar. Surprisingly satisfiying with leather and gamey notes, spice and a hint of black fruit. Drink now though.

Last bottle, too bad -- showing very nicely now. Syrah really comes through with bacon fat, earth and barnyard flavors. Very nice texture.
