Wow. I didn't want to like this wine. Heavy bottle, a punt that could house a small family of boat people, silly price...instead it was gorgeous. More white Graves than typical Cali Sauvignon blanc. Vibrant notes of citrus zest, white grapefruit, tobacco, clover honey, flint. Gliding, oily nicely balanced palate with a long, spicy finish. Blind I'm going Domaine de Chevalier same vintage (thus, i guess justifying the price!). Not many new world sauvignon blancs can hold on this long, let alone be this vibrant and delicious. Very impressive.

First of our bottles opened. Delicious sauvignon blanc with amazing viscosity on the palate. Possibly the richest California SB I have ever enjoyed. Not at all grassy or herbaceous but seemed to show a pear like flavor. Nonetheless, perfectly balanced and with a lengthy finish. So rich you almost expect it to be a touch sweet yet feels totally dry.

A bit pricey, but a great wine nonetheless. Very smooth, nose of apples and pears. Well-balanced. One of the best California Sauvignon Blancs - an equal or close second to the Merry Edwards offering for my taste.

A Taste of Howell Mountain, very floral nose of citrus, Washington Delicious Apple, peach, pear, and a touch of minerals, same on the palate, big body, very rich fruit, very tasty, very Bordeaux Blanc like, long, long, flavorful finish.
