I have long been a fan of the Red Paw Pinot, in its infancy, but have never tried one this old. At 7 years from vintage I was really not sure what to expect, but I have to say I was impressed by what I got. Nose is first and foremost earthy, with the balance of the aromas being floral and strawberry. I found the flavors to be quite pretty and followed the floral of the nose in the violet vein with gentle and delicate red fruit backing ... Not sure how much longer is left in the bottle, but it is sealed under screwcap so that should preserve it for some length of time more; but now is a pretty good time to crack the cap and enjoy.

- Ruby color with medium forming legs. It's balanced with a medium body. Round texture.

Nose: soft barnyard, early season strawberries
Palate: sour cherries, well balanced
more of a Burgundian style vs. new world California style
excellent value, drinking well now, score held at 90 due to lack of aging potential (vs. some of the Burgundian greats)
