  • Tooch Going Away Dinner (TDS): Appealing nose of mature plum fruit, band aid and green pepper. Mature fruit still has good energy and richness. Nice complexity of earth, funk, cigar and bell pepper. Nice, but this is a little subdued relative to 1st Growth expectations.

  • A farewell to Tooch (Chicago, IL): Initially a little stinky, but that blew off right away. This is a pretty old school bottle of claret, with its graphite and leather. I think overall I liked this more than many others at the table, and I liked it more than I thought I would too. It's a pretty brawny wine, and while the fruit isn't on full display anymore, there's still some pretty nice elements overall.

  • slightly less dark than latour drunk with. textbook cedary mouton nose of lead pencil and slightly spicy cassis, lush and flowery: a true bouquet, a bit minerally and slightly greenish-cabernet at first, is even more beautiful over time. delicious, succulent, high-toned, perfect balance of a melange of flavours of soft, ripe, hair sweetish fruits,; bit loose textured compared to latour, lafite, h-b. lightish body; soft, caressing texture; delicate finish fades very slowly and harmoniously. probably at peak now

  • Ruby colour still with a brick edge. When first poured the nose suggested forest floor, damp leaves and vegetal notes but blackberry and raspberry fruit, violets, earthy, dusty, dried leaves. The palate is super smooth on entry but then there’s a lovely fresh black fruit with spice, tannins and acidity and a minute long finish. Brilliant

  • During the year end Gala Dinner of the Commanderie de Bordeaux Hong Kong with Domaines Rothschild CEO Jean-Guillaume Prats present as guest host. From Double Magnum. Wonderful tertiary aromas in the nose here with forest floor, cedar, dark fruit. Soft palate, goo mid mouth presence. Very grand.
