Really liked this wine. The cork completely disintegrated upon open which was somewhat odd for a wine that's just in mid-life. I was able to dig it out with a flexible Cutco serrated knife and strained it into a decanter. Really lovely, very aromatic and a nice complement to steak, fingerling potatoes and an arugula blue cheese salad from Mayfield, Brooklyn. It's got the slightest wisp of gentle tannins. Acid was present, increasing with time in the decanter. Offered this to a neighbor, but he wanted a beer. I would generally say his loss but split a Tired Hands Gatherer with him which was also killer.

Cork was soaked through and broke on opening. This bottle was clearly more mature than the others I’ve had but was still pretty darn delicious with that trademark deep olive brine nose and note throughout.

Monthly Tasting Group EEE #022; France Northern Rhône (@ MG): In the bouquet sweet and ripe, almost jammy fruits. Same on the palate, a lot of sweetness, rose hips and minerals. Firm acidity and tannin with still a bite. Although the wine is showing maturity there is no real hurry.
