  • Horray; opened the Grapillion d"Or '98 which was fabulous.
    Yikes, opened the Montmirail as a challenge since it was sitting out on the counter and it was a natural to compare the 2.
    Yuck! Balsamic Vinegar.
    Tenth nose and still can't even get myself to taste it.
    OK-a good decanting and it's rounding into shape.
    Nose is a turn off. But drinking is another deal.
    Anybody ever had Chou Do Fu in Taiwan---stinks to high heaven, but the taste is to be in high heaven---OK--not to everybody's taste zone.
    This is weird-Nose still a turn off
    Rich-full bodied
    a dense complex wine
    this wine needs to be decanted for a few hours more
    The Grappillion is a different breed of cat.
    Day 2--lost it's cat fart nose and is drinking beautifly.
    Soldiering on thru this old cellar of mine.
    2000 Fevre's have caught my eye for tomorrow--we will see, we will see
