  • unfortunately this bottle was not as well preserved as the last one. tastes like a spanish sherry. wish we could have enjoyed this wine at the proper moment.

  • this wine got lost in the donor's cellar only to be unearthed when moving from kinderhook to chester. the wine was kept as a tribute to the advisor who helped select it. i kept it for a few more years, remembering the great alexis lichine who was a pioneer in educating the american palate. who would have guessed that this humble wine would still be alive 30 years later. sorry to have missed its glory as a debutante but honored to have tasted this legacy of the introduction of fine french wine to the united states. the gamay fruit was still noticeable but the wine was considerably thinned out. i still have a few of its cousins which must be drunk before they (and I) need to be confined to a nursing home.
