PNP. Drank alongside the 2005. Initially the 2005 outshone this wine but over the course of the evening, the 2006 opened up and became more complex. I may have even preferred the 2006 vintage slightly. As with every Lamborn I've tried, this wine was well balanced with soft but structural tannins. This vintage featured lovely dark fruit accompanied by hints of cigar box, violets, eucalyptus, and vanilla.

This was a gift from a friend we opened last night and let decant. One of the best wines we have had. Earthy, fig, blackberries perfectly combined in a balanced wine. Finishes incredibly smoothly. Still a lot of life left in this 16 year old wine.

Clear, medium garnet – blackberry, cranberry, red currant, tobacco, vanilla; dry. Medium acid, medium tannins, 14.8% ABV, full body, medium+ finish. Can drink now, but has potential for aging.

My first bottle of Lamborn Cabernet but not my last. Promising nose leads to a wine of beautiful richness and concentration, with deep blackberries, currants and some sweet oak. Full bodied with plenty of glycerin and smooth tannins. Medium long, intense finish. Best on Day 1 with a few hours of slow ox, lost a little depth and viscosity on Day 2. Seems to be at peak now, where it should stay for a few more years.

Good but clunky and overly sweet. Vanilla cake batter, raspberry syrup, milk chocolate covered cherries, and chalky cassis. Not thinking this will improve from here.
