Slightly past peak. Wish I had not lost track of this bottle as last bottle 5 1/2 years ago was 93 points. This one maybe 90. Still has nice tannins and some secondary nuance but little fruit.

A nose of dried cherries and dried plum, with bacon fat, floral and mushroom notes that emerge with time. A nice, rounded texture in the mouth withenough tannins to last for several more years. Super enjoyable.

Last bottle of one of the great closeout deals of all time. $14 a bottle. Classic Barolo with raspberries, stones, earth, violets and mushrooms. Still quite tannic and will continue to develop over the next decade. Thanks Big Top!

Dinner at Acqua: 1 hour double decant (mag decanter). Nose: Unreal nose with aromas of earth, violets, sandalwood, and traces of forest floor. Very compelling! Palate: Still big tannins even after nearly 11 years of age. Savory flavors of black fruits, assorted spices, plums, and a 45-60 second finish. Just a fantastic bottle! My last bottle will sit another couple years at least.

Holding up well. Day 3 review with spices, floral, raisins, mint and cedar. Complex and plenty of acidity. Food friendly wine indeed.
