  • Decanted for 3hrs. Cork was in excellent shape.
    Pale ruby healthy color.
    Intense nose, fruity aromas with blackberry and blueberry liqueur, tar, slight truffle nose.
    Full body, dry, soft tannins, medium acidity, very intense and fruity, turning more towards blue and red berries, spicy, smoked bacon, liquorice. Nice balance, complex and long wine. Much more fruity than expected and very enjoyable.
    Starting to evolve slightly since my last tasting 2yrs ago.

  • Medium red color with slight bricking. Aromas of black cherries, cola and licorice. Ripe, nicely extracted fruit in the mouth with excellent depth and length and fully integrated tannins. Supple and complex on the palate. Fully intact and delicious at 23 years of age but at end of peak drinking period.

  • Completely surprised by this wine. At 23 years old , still So youthful.
    Deep garnet, very youthful primary nose of flowers, tar, black fruit liqueur and dried meat.
    Full body, soft tannins, liquorice and same black fruit liqueur flavours as on the nose. Its medium acidity and ripe fruit makes for a soft texture with no hard edges. Long and sweet aftertaste.
    Very nice wine and still has many years to go.

  • Youthful expressive nose displaying intense dry black fruit, black cherry, dry cherry, fruit cake, strong iron, licorice, raw button mushroom, dark spices and earth. Excellent concentration, layers upon layers of intense black fruit, very masculine and structured, bright acidity, strong iron mineral, still showing noticeable slightly coarse tannins and a medium to long intense dry black fruit driven finish with iron at the end. This reminds me G. Conterno Cascina Francia with strong iron but a bit more masculine/angular. Still needs another decade which is really surprising.

  • Opaque crimson with a faint bricking at the rim. Immediately piquant, tertiary nose of licorice, fresh sarsaparilla, and the syrupy medicinal quality of Robitussin (I mean this with very positive enthusiasm). All of this is balanced by still lively tart red fruit. This is sweetly savory on the dense, monolithic palate, which is mouth-coating in the way of the 1982 Mouton-Rothschild. This is exceptionally good - perfectly mature - and should be enjoyed immediately.
