A disarming lovely nose, what I am conjecturing is a glycerine, strawberry nose. On the palate bacon fat without heavy alcoholic heat (always a major plus in my book), wondering if there isn't some Slovenian oak here but it's done in a tasteful "peppering" manner. Reminds me of the Hofstatter I'd tried last year. This wine left me wanting a longer midpalate presence, and the dropoff on the finish was a touch challenging for me--but I'm wagering this is the proper expression of Schiava.

Clear brownish garnet, light savory and mineral nose. A bit musty at first, fresh and lightly red-fruity, this wine consistently seemed a little thin to me. More tartness and bare tannins with a short finish. Second day significant nose and palate of blueberries, and a bit more body, much more enjoyable.

barnyard funk, mushroom, licorice, plums. Spicy. Great balance. better at cellar temp than warmed up - started to feel flabby. overall still great.

Medium bodied. Fresh cherry with lovely acidity, long finish, refined and silky. Excellent schiava.
