I think this was just round the bend for me regarding age. Nose was great but finishing palette was turbulent. Still a good bottle. Feels like I should have opened about a year prior.

Aromatics not as overwhelming as last bottle - presumably bottle variation rather than age since colour and palate were similar to last time, although sediment was less noticeable.
Unabashedly powerful, high alcohol is more than balanced by blackcurrant acidity and firm maturing tannins.
A lovely mouthful

Opened from a magnum. The nose is simply intoxicating with stewed plums and raisin (almost post-like). The mouth feel is medium to heavy but not syrupy in structure. The flavors are mainly sweet cherry, tobacco, and a light black pepper. The oak and tannins are well hidden. This wine is glorious. I have another magnum but will drink it over the next 3 to 5 years!!!

2007 Two Hands Shiraz Tasting at Winetasters of Toronto Club (North York Memorial Hall): 2007 Two Hands Shiraz Ares was by far the most distinctive wine in the line-up, with great interplay between ripe dark fruits and oak artifacts. The Barossa Valley Shiraz was medium ruby in colour with significant ambering at the rim. The nose was complex, with ripe dark plum, figs, violets and black pepper, followed by oak-artifacts of coffee and mocha. The mouthfeel was full-bodied and intense. The high alcohol level was noticeable, but well-balanced by mineral sensation, medium-high level of acidity and medium-high level of maturing supple tannin. The very long finish was filed with flavours of prune, coffee and ceder wood. This superstar of the tasting was ranked first in both the individual and table ranking, out of eight Two Hands Shiraz wines in the tasting.
