This was our 2nd bottle, and we waited too long to drink, past its prime. From the lingering flavors, and from our last bottle, this was definitely a solid Napa Merlot - score reflective of current state. Bummer.

Slight chemical smell on the nose. Fruit is fading but dark fruits remain. A bit acidic. Blackberry and plum on mid palate transitioning to a long pleasant finish.

Rich, smooth, lightly syrupy, very flavorful.

Deep purple. Opened up after 15 minutes. Blackcherry aroma and taste. Paired with a bone-in tenderloin and lobster -- it was delicious.
Spoke to the vintner in Dec of 2011, and Bremer said that the 2004 Merlot still taste great, but he recommends drinking it in 2012.
