Holy Wow. What great value here. Super concentrated purple color. Nose of dried herbs, cherry, beef, blood orange. Palate is dense, fruit driven, huge. Big notes of old vine Grenache and weighty Syrah here. What a great red. The finish is long and gutsy!

Ruby red in color with slight bricking at the rim of the glass. Scents of oak, earth, plums, and dried cranberries. In the mouth rustic flavors of mushroom, granite, red fruit, and lingering note of tobacco on the palate. Still quite enjoyable...but in need of drinking soon if you have some.

Interesting wine for the price. Must be unfiltered judging by the sediment, much of which is adhered to the bottle. Decanted for an hour. Initial impression was of cherry with a floral/medicinal finish. (I saw a tasting note that mentioned eucalyptus...that wasn't quite it for me, but that's the right idea.) The medicinal quality moderated nicely with a little time in the glass. Good body and nice peppery finish. Seemed in excellent shape, but gave the impression that it's probably time to drink up. Great with our lamb and bean stew.

(Chateau de Flaugergues "La Mejanelle-Cuvee Sommeliere") Violets, chalk, mocha, cassis, kirsch, minerals, earth and a whisper of sandalwood. Bright and juicy in the mouth with a soft texture and no hard edges. Very modern but still has a nice tight mineral core that runs throughout. Decent finish. Touch warm. Very nice but will drink it on the early side.

I have to admit, this is my favorite blend, but this wine is a good QPR, nonetheless. Good deep garnet color. Mocca and burnt wood like flavors.
