  • Still medium yellow. Nice fruit aromatics of peach and citrus. Fresh and bright with terrific persistence. The oak is well integrated which to me means barely perceptible. A lovely mature-ish, dare I say old style, white burgundy. A ridiculous value.

  • 1st of 6. Pale gold. Still fresh with crisp apple and melon fruit in foreground, integrated with rounded, smooth and buttery tertiary flavours. Perfectly balanced and long finish. Drunk with gourgeres as an aperitif and was fabulous. 4+/5

  • Medium golden yellow in color. Full, forward & fragrant nose of complex, ripe fruit aromas of apples, pears, citrus notes of lemons/limes & grapefruit with overtones of floral notes of honeysuckle wrapped around a solid core of minerals, stony, butterscotch, roasted hazelnuts & a subtle hint of toasty oak. Medium bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, complex, ripe fruit flavors of apples, pears & lemons/limes with minerals, flinty, stony, caramel/butterscotch & a hint of toasty oak. Long lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present & may be at its peak of development. A wonderful & still vibrant 1er Cru Puligny at 15 years of age.

  • I bought quite a few of the 2002 Red & White Burgundy wines on release and properly stored them. This was served at 50F with grilled chicken and peppers and it was fantastic before the meal over drinks with friends as well as with the meal for some. It is still bright golden in color and has medium body, perfect balance, and a nice finish. No concerns of being past its peak.

  • The last of 4 purchased on release and properly stored. Served at 45-50F with salmon. The other bottles were all consumed several years ago and I did not make notes. This was one I held on to just to see where it would go.
It was a gorgeous bottle that was in perfect condition and at its apogee. Bright golden in color. Lovely elegant blend of citrus, vanilla, floral, and minerality with medium body, perfect balance, and a long enchanting finish. When you catch a bottle at a point like this it is a thrilling experience.
