3/3/11-Opened. Very light colored wine, and fruit subdued, but a nice acidity and very transparent version of pinot. Reminded me of Michigan Pinot wants to be when it puts it's best foot forward. Nice food wine. Bouquet very faint. Legs run medium to slow. cork barely stained a very light purple, almost lavender. 3/4/11-second day. Vastly improved, bouquet is present. Acidity up a notch but the fruit decided to show. I know 07 was not a banner year in Oregon but this was very nice just the same. This light styled pinot was very transparent and primary pinot flavors came through instead of intense fruit. Score is 89.

Most people familiar with Oregon pinot noir know that 2007 was a pretty tough vintage all the way around and I think apolloni's offering here is reflective of the vintage. It's light, a touch austere, and doesn't provide more than primary Flavors of bright red fruit and then secondary flavors of pepper and mushroom. It is nicely balanced and has a relatively long finish.
