Pulled out on a whim, thus no decanting or standing up. This was really charming and pleasant at age 15. Plenty of dark fruit, supporting acidity and subtle secondary notes. A pleasure.

Still pretty tannic, but the fruit is there to support another couple of years aging. Still, this was wonderful against the strong flavors of a garlic and rosemary encrusted rack of lamb. Yes, this is Italian claret.

still an impressive purple in color with only the slightest hints of bricking along the rim. my last bottle(s) were so aggressively tannic that they were hard to drink, but this has really mellowed out over the past few years and is fantastic now. too bad this was my last bottle :( should be good drinking for the next 2-3 years, at least, but no reason to leave them alone any longer. 70% cab, 5% petit verdot, 25% ... merlot?

Went up against a 2005 Sansonnet and a 2005 Coniglio Spring Mountain and the Dulcamara beat them both. This has always been one of my favorite Italian value wines, punching way above it's weight.

Luscious, full bodied, dense... still a lovely wine with no signs of excess age. Perhaps light on tannins if you like a more structured, drier palate - but an indulgent easier IMHO.
