Absolutely in terrific shape for a 32-year-old Graves. Not intensely colored and with definite browning, it nevertheless exhibits an intriguing, sexy nose and plenty of "umph" in the surprisingly full and lengthy taste. Acidity still there, tho tannins have fallen away. Fortunately, this bottle was well stored in a cool, damp basement. While the label was gone — we determined the Château and wine from the cork — the cork itself was in fantastic condition.

A boire !!

One of a series of bottles dug from the cellar recently where they were forgotten, lost, overlooked, etc. Did not have any confidence in its drinkability, which was confirmed by experts tastings predicting its decay around ten years ago and after opening I so disliked the nose that I almost poured it in the sink. Almost, because after these five minutes the small miracle called "wine-unpredictability" came in and slowly changed it into a different wine. The colour deepened (I'm still amazed about how that can happen), the unpleasant notes disappeared from its nose and it became a pleasure to drink. If you also want the miracle to happen, don't wait too long, as it certainly starts to dry out a little after two hours or so.

Heerlijk!
