I liked the wine, but not nearly as much as Pali's other Pinots from Sonoma, Russian River and Oregon. I guess there's a reason why Santa Barbara Pinots consistently score lower than Pinots from most other regions.

Sweet fruit is the focus of this wine, with some level of structure, but mostly just a sunshine face of ripe (though not overripe) fruit. Easy to drink.

Compared the Huntington to the Riviera last night and it was fun to taste the difference. Some refer to this Pinot as being "New World" in its characteristics and I have to agree with that. While the Sonoma Coast bottling features a lean frame when compared to the Santa Barbara bottling, they both offer serious value in California Pinot Noir.
With a nose of ripe cherries and a bit of cinnamon, the flavors are mainly black cherries bolstered by some healthy oak overtones. All-in-all, a nice Pinot that is well worth the $19 price - a price point that is almost unheard of in California Pinot Noir.

Twist off and poured into a plastic Diet Pepsi bottle for a little "sumt'in sumt'in" while walking around NYC this afternoon. Formal notes to come....
