Tasted with Laubes, Chans, Sturmans. My God this was a superb wine. Perfectly paired with beef short ribs. Full bodied Cab, still tastes to be in its prime. Could easily last another 10 years. Hat's off to my dad who saved it in his collection for me to savor later

Tasted blind. Red and dark fruit, some leather, menthol, and dark cherries on the nose. Medium tannins with good acidity, tart berries, and more leather flavors on the palate. Quite long finish. Amazing how fresh and interesting this is for such an old wine.

Still retaining some red core in color, not as much bricking as would expect for this age. Floral nose, expressive of 70s Napa Cab, very nice. Medium body throughout, still has some stand-up to it. Some green/tannin on the finish suggests this would be good with a significant main dish (beef/pork). Did not match well with earthy burgundian foods however.

1974 California Tasting (Cafe Boulud): Indian spices on the nose with some maturity. Very fruity. At the edge of being over the hill but still just on the right side. 1974 Cali Cab tasting

Tasting 8 Cabernets at Primas. Best $3 pour of cabernet that I can remember, lots of tobacco and ripe fruit on the nose, soft, ripe fruit from the vineyard on the hillside, a short distance from La Jota, medium finish and aftertaste that was smooth and silky. Tasted twice. My #5.
