  Today's bottle pours a wine which is lightish yellow. Pineapple and candied fruit on the nose to start, (mineral characters and/or a bit of SO2 about), but then takes a yellow citrus route. Four hours later, the pineapple, candied fruit, mineral/SO2 have completely vanished, leaving a slightly pungent peach and nectarine combination to take their place. Nice attack, builds yellowish fruit, with a big acid wash on the spritzy finish. Simple enough, but vibrant. Closer to very good than it is to very good plus in this testing vintage. That said, I would have liked to have a few boxes of this in the cellar to defend unnecessary and premature attacks on the producer's superior Ellergrub Kabinetten. This will see two decades comfortably.

I recognize the style, in a fresher dressing. The sharp, intense acids balanced by good sweetness, and the minerality. Not so much on the nose at the moment, but elements of apple and citrus. Perhaps a bit simpler that I can remember to have experienced the 2007 to have been, but then I taste this vintage at an earlier point than the 2007. Must buy a few and let them develop.
