  • The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like forest floor, mushroom and light toast. It tastes like fig, but with a brett-like end of the mid-pallet. The body is medium. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

  • Heavy nose, dark berry jam, touch of heat. In the mouth more forest floor and wet earth than is apparent on the nose. Stewed fruit. Not an elegant wine, but a good effort, despite high alcohol.

  • From memory, at a BYO with chili and football. After perhaps 8 years and 40 bottles of red Tablas Creek, this bottle was pretty much what I expected, a classy Southern Rhone blend, ripe but not overwrought despite ABV 15%. Chosen to please our hosts, more enjoyable for me than many modern CdPs.

  • very pretty wine tonight. Agree with most recent notes: purple hue lovely nose of dark berry and earth. The best was palate with well delineated cherry and blueberry and smooth finish. No rough edges and no heat despite high ABV

  • [Note: This was stored in good, but not ideal, conditions. Apprx. ave. temp 65F with some seasonal variance.] Brought this out to dinner and it was PnP and then consumed over a period of an hour+. It started out a bit monotone, but unfolded a bit over time. Fairly ripe, dark fruits with some cool elements rolling in, maybe some mint, some herbs and dust. Despite the ripe dark fruit profile it wasn't too heavy, coming across mid+ weight. Medium finish. I think it's time to drink up for bottles kept in conditions like this one.
