This opened up slowly, gradually unfolding over a couple hours. The mouvedre's lightness shows in the color, with bricking on the rim to show age. However, the delicate aromas envelop you -- dried fruit, tar, floral, spice, smoke. This actually reminded me of a barolo, without the astringent tannins; or a bandol with more fruit. Me - 91, Wife - 90. This is drinking well now and should be fine for at least a few more years.

This one combines four grape varieties that Cris Cherry handles beautifully - Mouvedre (65%), Syrah (15%), Tempranillo and Grenache (10% each). Medium dark ruby red. Expressive and attractive red and black fruit aromas. On the palate, concentrated and focused rasberries, black cherry and cedar with overtures of smoke and pepper. Well balanced and very lush. Extremely enjoyable!

14.8% ABV. 65% Mourvedre, 15% Syrah, 10% Grenache, 10% Tempranillo. Deeply colored slightly cloudy, opaque in the center. Smoky waxy animal fur and pine on the nose. Medium full bodied tangy dark fruit attack with some toasted cedar and graphite over ripe mulberry. A bit unfocused, but pleasing.

Nice nose showing vanilla, blackberry, coffee, smoke, mineral, and spices. Medium bodied with medium finish. VC's notes are spot on.
