NobleRottersSydney - with Michel Chapoutier (Darling Mills, Glebe): In addition to, or as a result of, some kind of joint ventures with Mount Langhi Ghiran and Jasper Hill, Chapoutier have begun producing wines from Australian materials beginning with the 1998 vintage. This wine is a deep red. No grenache here! Still can’t get away from that Australian fruit nose! There are ultra-fine tannins though, along with some elegant, not unripe, cabernet qualities. Satisfactory, but not particularly distinguished.
