  • Deep lemon coloured with green hue, medium(-) intensity. Developed, medium(+) nose. Minerality, wet stones, petroleum. On the palate half sweet, high acidity, medium body, 7.5%. Round, almost soft attack, though a bit prickly. Then the acidity hits the midpalate, the famous Mosel acidity. Wow! Lemon and petroleum. Minerality. Superb length.
Almost untouched by a night in the fridge. Lively. Delectable.

From very steep Grosse Lage, red slate.

  • Lighter lemon color. Nose of pineapple, ripe lime, apple, pear and a touch of minerality. The tertiary flavors (like petroleum) are just starting to develop. Light-medium body, high acidity and a medium sweetness form a beautiful very fresh Kabinett. Medium-long finish. This is a really amazing Riesling Kabinett with a lip-smacking acidity and still many years ahead. Problem is, it's already very delicious... so I will probably end up drinking all the bottles in the first few years... as always. The Erdener Treppchen is always one of the best Riesling Kabinetts from the Mosel region... and still a great value!

  • Very light gold in colour. Fair whack of sulphur at first, but it mainly blows off. Light nose of slate, lime and pear. Medium bodied palate, just off dry. Shows the great cut of the 2008 vintage - nice acid levels. More mineral than fruit driven right now - slate, pineapple, pear, mango and lemon. Very young tasting (B+).
