Dark and inky, decanted for 1hr+. Opened up quite a bit. Some tobacco, chocolate, little bit of menthol in there. Still lots of fruit— cherry pie. About as full body and intense as a wine can get but still fairly balanced. This was great, and I think aging this wine improves it a lot. I had a 2012 in 2015 and was not impressed (fruit bomb) and I understand there isn’t much variation year-to-year; this has more redeeming qualities.

Soft and supple, really showed beautifully but probably at peak now.

Toasty oak, mineral, lavender, exotic spices, incense, licorice, dark chocolate, and black cherry. This wine is drinking very well right now.
