Deep red - still youthful. Bursts with big modern style fruit and strong oak aromas (8 months new French). Pleasant earthiness and herbal tones. Palate comes on with very ripe dark fruits and an excess of oak, which smears any detail. Some nice floral and earthy nuances. Good quality fruit that has been mistreated in the winery by overuse of oak. Still nice but could have been a lot better.

Purple color. Aromas of violet and cherries. Medium body, prominent but balanced acid with good mineral back bone and cranberries and dried cherries flavors. Medium length and pleasant finish.

Opened for an hour or so before tasting, which seemed to be a good idea, because the first taste was powerful, but quickly smoothed out. Dark fruit is dominant, and a bit of the oak from barrel aging is noticeable. A nice, supple blend of Touriga Franca, Tinta Roruz, and Touriga Nacional.

The nose was better than the taste. The nose had a lot of traditional bordeaux notes, the palate, however, was much more fruity, tangy. Not a bad wine, but probably would not repeat.
