  • It is hard to believe that my last bottle of this was over 10 years ago (TN June 2013!). Time moves way too fast!! Despite that very sad realization, this is wine remains absolutely gorgeous. Still gobs of fruit and great cab character, but lots of sweet cherry sangiovese elements too. This is certainly internationally styled but there is no denying the hedonistic pleasure and sexiness here. Yes, it is all chocolatety and vanillaey, but w/ grilled Fred's steak and mashed potatoes, this is on fire.

  • Agree with TallMike on this, starting to mellow out and soften up considerably from previous bottles. Tannins are almost gone, just a hint of tobacco, becoming quite fruit forward. I've got a couple of these left and will probably drink them in the next few years.

  • Starting to mellow a bit, but still an intensely delicious wine. The Cab with Sangio and splash of PV is really a great blend. The PV really shows in the darkness - both visually and the fruit/floral notes that are deepest darkest night. Black plum and violet. This is all smoothed out from a tannic perspective, still plenty of fruit and after some air "flavors from the forest". I'd say drink now, drink next year or the year after.

  • OMG! The Super Tuscan of your dreams. On the nose, red and black fruit with a certain "creaminess". Medium weight and seamless on the palette with all systems go! I think the little splash of Petit Verdot in this ties is all together. Glad I have a couple more - but those will be consumed soon. This one is ready.

  • Deep, dark color. Beautiful nose of raisins, plums, graphite. Fresh, nice acidity, in its drinking window I would say with still plenty of nice dark fruits, graphite, tobaccos; tannins still not resolved, medium+ finish with hints of sweet aromatic wood on the ending. Drink up in the next 2-3 years in my opinion. This was PnP - I think some air would have improved the palate quite a bit. 92-93 potential.
