Tasted blind. Nose had a nice tone of earthy funk to go with the cherry/dried sour cherry fruit. While the wine had a pleasant albeit clipped finish, it seemed lacking in the middle a bit, as well as lacking acid. There's nice tannin here too. Overall a very solid bottle but nothing I would re-buy.

Blackberry, black current, raspberry, and violet notes. A bit of sous-bois as well, muted but underlying the fruit. Nice blackberry, black currant, orange notes. At first a bit of frizzante which surprised me. Perhaps some reduction as well on initial attack. However, nice medium concentration of fruit flavors with a medium fruit finish. Very nice.

Opened two hours in advance. Funky leather and red fruit aroma. Tart, smooth orange flavor. Complex finish with elements of chalk, spice, persimmon. Uncompromisingly firm backbone, interesting flavors, some depth. A solid double all the way through, but stretches it to a triple with that finish.

2007 Burgundies: Ruby in color, clear and bright. The nose has cherries and sour cherries. It is tight but opened slightly with air. Slightly sweet on the palate turning tart on the finish. Does seem riper than most and with an underlying complexity.

2007 Bruno Colin Whites and Reds (San Francisco Wine Trading Company): Slightly deeper color than the Chassagne VV. Briary raspberry and soil. Good acidity, moderate tannin for its size. Similar weight as the prior wine, more upfront fruit, light, and an earthy finish that quickly tails off. I wouldn't buy this one either.
