Drank it during the Eurovision finale 😆 Dark reddish gold in the glass, honey, herbs, incredibly rich, no oxidation notes at all. A gem. My only bottle though…

At Shannon with Nick and Libby. Dark amber color. This wine has elements of an aged madeira -- not quite the think syrupy nature of a port or a PX. Lovely flavors of marmalade, dark honey, roasted lemons, with a nice acidic lift that comes to the edge of bitterness without crossing over. Really intriguing wine. It will not decrease in flavor, but not sure it will improve either?

Raisiny fruit on the nose complemented by notes of burnt sugar, mushrooms and copper. Sweet and medium bodied mouth-coating palate with burnt sugar character dominating. There's beautiful acidic backbone kicking showing through all the sweetness and concentration. Mid-length. Aromatically seemed to be rather worn out and thus a disappointment.

Cracked this bottle to celebrate visit of some South African friends. Served at cellar temperature and allowed to warm with ambient air. Pale gold and crystal clear to the eye. Nose of freshly mown grass, vanilla, and mountain flowers. On the tongue, a precise and yet delicate rendering of peach and apricot fruit. Lovely finish. Very young, but very promising. Should be fun to see how the other 2 bottles age!

Really lovely - brown sugar and marmalade with a long finish.
