(Blind tasting) Deep, nuanced and elegant nose. Gently oaky with very generous fruit almost tropical in style. Youthful. And creamy. Maybe lacking a bit of complexity, but that could be the youthfulness. Dense, medium-fullish, complete palate with very good grip. Tropical fruit, wet stone minerality. Pure, rich, noble and intense. Very long finish with acid lasting for a minute. Clearly GC intensity. the elegance and purity pointed to Chevalier, but we are not knowledgeable enough to pin-ooint the various GCs. This wine will reward further cellaring at least 3-5 years, barring Premox.

Grand Cru or Not Grand Cru (Est. Private Dining Room): Muted with stone fruit, cream, vanilla, actually touches of tropical fruit, some butter. In the mouth it's fleshy and rich, butter, juicy stone fruit, tropical fruits, lovely, long. harmonious. Really very very good, superb in fact. A lovely wine to finish on.

Has some guava, rockmelon and white peach on the nose. It is full, sappy and fruity in the mouth with layers of flavor. It really builds through the palate and finishes clean, minerally and long but perhaps without the tension of great Chevalier.

While I enjoyed this wine, it didn't perform as well as I had hoped or expected. The 2004 vintage of this wine was the last I had tasted, and it was classic, with great tension and nervosite. The 2008 however had notes of tropical fruit and a shorter finish. This will probably have great appeal to many, but it's not what I seek in Burgundy.
