  • Brought to drink at Oinoscent
This comes from 50+yo vines of Roussanne, 50% in casks and 50% in wooden tanks, then reained on lees,, 500 cases made
The bottle was decanted at 11:20, rebottled at 12:20, tasted for the 1st time at 12:45

The wine shows deep but bright, crystal clear golden color, so sign of sediment, corked came out in one beautiful piece.
The wine shows an amazing character, extrovert, ripe to overripe mango, peach, apricot, tin pineapple, honey, wax, turmeric/spice notes, fine thin oak layer with a handful smashed almonds sprinkled on top.
In the palate, the wine shows medium body, the fruit intensity is lower compared to the nose, shows acidity and minerality, almond and honey, butter and caramel notes, long layered finish
Outstanding quality. I don't think it would benefit from further ageing. It would be very interesting to pair this with food, but damn its so good to drink on its own!!

  • Deep golden colour with some orange. Quince, pear, citrus, honey, beewax. Very creamy and full-bodied with a lingering finish. Ready.

  • Double decanted and then the bottle left open early in the day. Drunk over three days thereafter.

A waxy and honeyed nose with pear compote, lanolin and a sense of stoniness. Expansive on the palate, deep, waxy, and texturally rich yet not heavy. The phase of pseudo-oxidation has passed and this is drinking at its second peak. Very long on the back end finishes with some nuttiness and bitterness that I think adds to the whole. It is a literal mouthful and a glass or so goes a long way. Texturally like aged white Hermtiage or GC Burg like Batard. Impressive and very interesting, but a little goes a long way. Held up for 3 days in the fridge after being opened.

  • Colour still with hints of green with the gold. Clearly mature but fresh flowers along with the deep waxy notes. A slight hint of oxidation but not enough to spoil. Great depth and length. Excellent with salted cod brandade

  • CdV
