Terroir-istes International - France, Burgundy, Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru (Rodwell House): Pale yellow colour, the aromas are initially floral with crayon, toast, mineral and flint but morph upon coaxing to honey, nut and toast, becoming more savoury. Light to medium-bodied, the entry is tight with a firm line of crisp acidity. Not a heap of fruit and a little flatlining on the mid-palate, there is quite a heft of oak with spices and a smear of vanilla. The lighter style perhaps lifts the warmer alcohol and hot spicy feel. Overall there is a lovely precision to this more savoury Chassagne-Montrachet.

We took this to a sushi BYO last night in kennett square so no notes. It was one of those wines that really get you thinking. At times there were red wine qualities about it. Some oak and licorice mainly I guess. There is some creamy vanilla bean and tropical fruit but also crisp lemony mineral notes. Nice finish. Wish I had more time and a bigger bottle to try to wrap my head around it. We liked this alot and will search out others from this area.

Pale straw color with a spicy, citrus nose. Lemons, honeydew, good acidity and a velvety butter whole. Trace amounts of minerality.
