  • My last bottle of this good Burgundy. Good fruit and acid balance. I think these are at peak.

  • Very nice drunk with salmon sushi. This wine was loaded with cranberry / current fruit. For me good alone but really stood out with the food. Still plenty of tannin to go more years.

  • First of three. Drank with grilled Red salmon over fresh garden salad. If you drink it now give it an hour to open up. Good now wit a bit of earthiness and fruit. Still plenty of tannin. I think it will improve with more cellar time. Drink or hold.

  • Had this bottle since 2010, in fact it has been laying in the same place since purchase. Slow Decated through a screened funnel with surprisingly no sediment then brought to cool room temperature and tasted. The nose is quite rich with plenty of cherry and plum along with a good dose of woody notes, the palate had plenty of old world musty wood, truffles and terroir balanced by sour cherry, bitter plum, ocean spray and spicey cassis. Despite the inconsistent if not bizarre privious notes IMO this is a solid Pommard that appears the have some life left and if I had another bottle I would not be in any hurry to consume.

  • Very pommard nose of dark cherry/black raspberry, some wood--a nice darkish pinot nose with some lift and freshness. Attack is a bit monolithic/agressive and lacks distinction (yes, it's pommard, but this attack is dull), somewhat watery mid-palate, bordering on flabby, and finishes with a slightly bitter and clipped finish with some chewy tannins remaining to be resolved. While this is at the beginning of AM's drinking window, I think he missed the boat on this one. Not by a mile (he gave it 86-88) for me right now it is disappointing and I don't think it will last because the mid-palate just doesn't show any signs of building richness (this wine is now working on its sixth year and some signs of transformation should be evident; this has gotten somewhat silkier but it has also lost whatever volume and richness it had in the process) and the overall palate just lacks in a distinctive structure. I just don't see this surprising to the upside. It may flesh out a tad over the next two years but my guess is that it won't ever be better than a decent (but not even very good) bourgogne. While the nose smells of pommard, this tastes overcropped and has some green seed tannins I'm not really liking. I guess this is why it was cheap!
