Great nose - wide open, loads of red fruit and earthiness. The palate dissapoints, however. There is a big hole in the mid palate where the fruit should have been. Comes across very dry and edgy. Shouldn't be losing fruit already so question is - was it ever there? My first bottle so can't elaborate on bottle variation.

A little bit of barnyard blows off with an hour of decanting and the wine really gets going. Nice fruit with a zippy backbone of acid and relatively good tannin. Positively bright and refreshing. Even a nice complexity from front to back. After three hours everything seems to just fall apart. Acids become bighting and bitter. Fruit drowns out. Great wine in a restaurant where you might punch through and finish a bottle in an hour. Pop and pour if you got em. These won't last too long.

Color is a bit light and watery compared to the L'Arlots tasted today; on nose, a little muddy earth and light red fruits. Palate is bitter, not pleasing; fairly concentrated but the quality of the fruit is not that high. 86-87

Good, but very far from great. I guess this is what to expect at this price range in Burgundy...
