At over 15% alcohol, this was an overripe fruit and alcohol bomb. The tannins are still edgy 12 years after the vintage. This may appeal to those new to enjoying wine who seek a "wow" "eye popping" wine to grab their attention, but for me, there is no balance here at all. Stewed prune and fig with heat, over-ripe sweetness, and grippy tannins.

Drank with the great Dave Phinney.
Softer nose of crushed sweet berries. Pretty balanced with fruit and oaky notes
