straw yellow - perfumed nose of apricots and white flowers - viscous full-bodied mouth with restrained fruit that evolved slowly over time - refreshing acidity - long unctuous finish - perfectly aged white Hermitage pretty much at its peak now

Popped and poured. Almost sherry-like colour. As noted by a previous taster a delicious and strong dried apricot note on the nose. Sadly not matched by taste which was curiously insipid. Started to open up a little in the following hour. The bottle wasn't properly chilled (by our hosts) so I will refrain from rating this.

Definitely mature, with honeyed mineral notes enhanced by dried apricot flavors in a wine that was brick orange in color. Remarkably, the wine actually became more brighter and more focused in the glass, so fans of this style could probably get away with waiting a couple more years to drink. But why take the chance - drink now.

Alas , I waited too long to enjoy this bottle. Oxidized and way over the hill. Drinkable as a type of maderized sherry, buy a shell of what it could have been.

Gorgeous ripe perfumed nose, an interesting oily viscosity. Classic Herm Blanc that opened up as the evening went on--marzipan, acacia blossom, orange blossom, a touch of a light maple syrup element. Nice!
