  • Inky black color with some violet to ruby at the very edges. Nose of dried meats, leather and dark fruit. Tons of acidity and minerality on the palate with some darker fruits and a little meatiness showing as well. Very Italian. Kind of a shock to my senses at first tonight, but opened a bit and drank well with hearty Italian fare, and then continued to drink well beyond dinner. A little short on the finish. Good food wine here at a good price ($10-15).

  • Singular Selections Tasting (Cook & Brown): 3/21/11: Tannic. Classic. Bright, with high acidity. Screaming for food. Very good, and a good choice for someone looking for the next step of Monte. 87-88

10/26/10: Tons of stuff going on in the aromatics. Some funk, great acidity. Really good Monte, at the next level that it is correctly priced at. 88
