Just a short notes some days after consumption. This wine was a bit rough around the edges per memory and was quite tannic. I believe I had purchased a half-case back in '09/'10 for ~$8 a bottle. Now some decade later and this is drinking smooth and pure. It hasn't lost a bit of life, and it has truly improved with age. There's a lesson that while 95% of the $50-$100 2007's drunk in 2020/2021 are significantly worse for the aging, here's a sub-$10 wine that has greatly evolved to a better state. Balance beats all in the end.

Decanted and tasted after several hours. Nose: blackberry, dirt, faint anise. Fruits follow, very subdued behind sharp tannins. Great balance of fruit, acid, tannins. There's more potential here. Scoring on what I tasted, but looking forward to the other bottle in a year or so.

Improving my score with one point. This wine seems to be getting better - ageworthy yet very drinkable now.
